Digitone 2 vs original

I don’t think so, because SLEW is zero after import.

I checked it again, with a sound that sounded significantly different after the import

LFO: Random, Slew is set to 100, the target is pitch A and B. Depth to 13.41%

Just got my Digitone 2 today, and holy cow the overdrive ACTUALLY sounds like overdrive, in contrast to whatever limp buzzing the overdrive on the OG Digitone makes

Can DN2 open DN1 projects? I’m planning to upgrade.

Yes. Certain limits with voice settings and some other settings…

absolutely, i 've done a video on this, you will find the 4 four tracks with your og digitone sounds and pattern, the track 5 to 8 set to midi ( you can of course set to any machine Digitone II offers) and the rest is yours to tweaks as you want…

be sure to back up your presets as .DNS before selling og because the DNII cannot open sysex presets for now

Really impressed with some of the new OS features on the DT2. Especially some of the keyboard features. I assume I would be naive in thinking that there might be a DT1 OS upgrade soon with some of these included?

Yes

I wouldn’t count on it.
It is not like MKI, MKIIs.
Different OS.

Can import somehow the Digitone sounds in mk2?

Yes, if they have been exported from DN1 as .dnsnd files, Transfer will import them into DN2. I have done this with a few banks of presets.
