I just uploaded a new video describing how to emulate a Vinyl Sim effect similar to the Roland SP series. I was actually kinda surprised no one had done this before. This is definitely one of my less serious videos (trying to be more laid back and less awkward), but I hope y’all enjoy it all the same. Let me know what you guys think!

Pretty cool I’ve found with the warbles on the lfo that slower speeds can take a bit more depth and faster speeds you can use a bit less depth for a good not too goofy warbles, also when using the lfo in trigger mode use the lfo fade to bring the warbles in a little slower, you can usually push the depth a bit more then also. You can use these techniques on short samples also then resample the full beat and do a more subtle final pass… tons of possibilities.

Yes nice. I have an octatrack and you can do the same thing, although with Octatrack you can go further as you have three LFOs, and can stack more fx. Gets pretty grimey

I cant wait to finally own an OT! It’s gonna be a long while, but when I do I’m probably gonna trade in my DT and 404 to get it. Kinda condense things down a bit.
No can do! I like the protection, especially if I plan to sell this at any point. I’d want the next owner to have a fresh screen to look at when they get it.
Great video man! The background music is a bit confusing though. Why have background music? You want people to concentrate on the loop you’re making.

The background music was a channel-based choice more than anything. I noticed that viewer retention on my videos with background music was longer than those with just the room noise going on, so I just keep it going! Plus I get to showcase some of my other beats since my channel is mostly tutorial based.
Yeah it’s a good idea (and a good beat going on). Maybe you can have it in the beginning of the video while you’re making an introduction and then again at the end? Just an idea.
I’ll definitely take that into consideration! I’m always willing to try new ways to improve the viewer experience.
Sometimes I like to boost the treble of the sample on the computer before I filter it on the DT.

No you’re not missing anything, haha.
When I compressed it at the end it made a drastic jump in volume, so I did some volume automation on the earlier sections to get them more level with each other. I overdid it just a bit too much, haha.
