Hi, I just started tinkering with a soft synth for the first time (Audiokit Synth One) on my iPad. I connected my Digitakt to it and attempted to play it Chromatic mode, but I’m having a problem.
I can play the iPad synth from the digitakt, but can only hear it from the iPads speaker, not in my headphones (connected to Digitakt). In the USB config menu I have it set to USB Audio/Midi…can it only do one or the other, not both?
It can do both. I usually host the synth in AUM, you can then choose the output for the channel in AUM as headphones or USB / Digitakt.

Thanks for the response. I’ll check out the AUM, but I guess I don’t understand why I need a third party interface when the Digitakt is supposed to be an interface, correct? I just want to listen (thru my headphones) to this one synth plus the DT’s internal drum samples…shouldn’t I be able to do that with just the DT, Synth One on the iPad, and a usb cable connecting the two?
You plug the headphones into the digitakt

I just tried this with Model Cycles and it works just fine. No need for AUM. As long as you have Audio + Midi, it should work— without any third-party Apps.
Using the headphone out from iPad into Digitakt will lose the stereo image from the soft synth.
You plug your headphones into the headphone jack of the digi, silly
Hi
You have to go to the SETTINGS / AUDIO ROUTING / INT TO MAIN : OFF (i believe)
