Digitakt Trig button not registering after firmware update

I’ve just got a Digitakt so apologies if this is a misunderstanding or documented elsewhere. I’ve just run the firmware update to 1.20a and following this I can’t get the ‘Trig/Quantize’ page button to light up or register. I’ve tried doing the key test (powering up with Function held down) and this also doesn’t register. When a pattern first loads it defaults to the ‘Src’ button being lit.

I’ve also noticed that the light below ‘Chromatic’ remains on regardless of whether I’m in chromatic mode or not as well as the lights for ‘PTN’ and ‘BANK’ - these 3 lights are light from the power up screen.

Do I have an issue or am I misunderstanding something? I swear this worked as I expected prior to updating the firmware. Any help much appreciated - even if it’s a RTFM hint.

If you startup the Digitakt while holding the FUNC button you get to the startup menu. Select the “TEST MODE” and you can test out all the buttons and knobs of the Digitakt.

This helps to find out if the button really is broken or if there’s an issue with the firmware or your understanding of how things work.

@L4rs3rik I’ve tried this:

  1. The test reports no issues
  2. The ‘trig’ page button doesn’t register when testing the keys
  3. The ‘PTN’ and ‘BANK’ buttons do register but seem to be consistently lit when booting

Any ideas? I have a ticket logged with Elektron support but have heard about delayed response times at the best of times.

have you tried loading or creating a different project ?

I have no idea. I would guess that the button is broken since it doesn’t register in the test screen. But I’m just an old fart so it’s much better to hear what the Elektron support says.

Thanks both for suggestions but new project makes no difference either. Electron support have been in touch and I’ve sent them a video so hopefully they’ll respond quickly. It’s frustrating as this worked fine prior to upgrading the firmware.

I would try to update to the latest firmware, again. And if that doesn’t help I would do a factory reset of the Digitakt (from the startup menu.)

Already tried that with no joy :frowning: I fear it may have to go back to Electron but let’s see what they say.
