Digitakt Transfer: Device failed to open file for write

Could not find this exact issue. I’m seeing the following error when transferring files from my Mac (10.13.6) to Digitakt (1.10). I’ve tried reinstalling Transfer, rebooting my computer, ensuring no other apps are accessing Digitakt via MIDI, and ensured that the Digitakt is in USB MIDI only mode.

Any ideas?

Try starting a new project then transferring I find if I’m having trouble with transfer that usually fixes it.

Thanks for the tip - unfortunately that didn’t do the trick.

Is it just those handful of files failing or everything you try to transfer?

Anything - I’ve tried different files and nothing works. I also noticed that I can’t create a new Directory through Transfer either. It’s as though the Digitakt drive is in read-only mode.

Well, in the end my issue was pretty simple. I had nearly maxed out the 1GB of space available on +Drive. If you run into the errors shown above, it’s likely you need to clear out some space before transferring new samples.

I had the same issue yesterday evening: the memory on the +Drive was full! So I had to deleted some unused samples to upload new ones, and took also a chance to sort out all my sample collection on the DT.

Making the sample shorter worked for me. I failed to transfer it when it was 11 minutes long, but when it was 6 it worked just fine.

This is likely because an 11 minute 48khz 16 bit mono wav file is about 64mb which is the entire size of the project ram on the digitakt.
