Digitakt + Tesla Coil (!) - Live Performance

Here are tracks edited & mixed from our two+ hour live performance in a very large warehouse.

I’m playing Digitakt, Circuit, du-Touch, Pisound w/Pd, & a Faderfox UC44 controller.
Josh is playing a 100k volt Tesla coil via his custom built MIDI to coil controller & Live.

And, yes, it was a very big warehouse, and the reverb was incredible:

Very cool!

I’ve been tempted for a long time to build a musical tesla coil.

It’s funny the tesla coil thing doesn’t sound like I would have expected, or I might not be hearing it right?

great sounds, mark!

The coil is playing the fast, high melodic line with a noisy pulse width like tone. Were you expecting something noisier?

Josh (they guy in the chair with his legs up) is playing CHIME RED, which turns a Tesla coil into a 16 oscillator, multi-envelope, synthesizer. This system, which he developed, is considerably more nuanced than other Tesla coil audio systems. In particular it has control over dynamics and can do FM.
