I’ve had difficulties with trigs and it seems like a new UI PCB is in order, $188 with shipping from Elektron direct. Are there any safe ways to get a deal on one elsewhere? Probably not but thought I’d ask before I do it.
Fix what you got with parts. That would be your best shot.
Be under warranty is better.
If you found a completely dead one for less you could take the gamble on buying it for parts. How much ( this is not a solicitation to buy or sell, just a rhetorical question so don’t answer this ) would you sell your “dead” one for ? A lot less than $188 ? Probably not.

I had to replace mine because of 3 always-on Trig LEDs( got a good deal on a used DT1 with this problem but otherwise worked fine)
I looked around too and did not find a good source for parts. I can’t solder so bit the bullet and bought the UI PCB directly from Elektron - pretty smooth process and it was a plug in replacement when it came .

I’ll probably get it sent to me too. It’s probably cheaper and faster to just get the whole new PCB than mail it to get diagnosed and repaired. Thanks for sharing your experience. Any idea what causes the issue? Just bad luck? I have a row of trigs that won’t turn on.
Did you run diagnostics ?
Yes everything works ok except trigs 9-16 not lighting up
Likely a driver IC.
First thing is blast that board with canned air, and try it again.
If you soldered, its a cheap part. Could also be connections into that part, so first step after inspection might just be reflowing the solder to inputs to that IC. Some local might be able to help. I certainly would look at that part under magnification to see if something obvious stands out
Ask Elektron support specfically about those LEDs being out.
