Digitakt Pattern yellow?

Hi everybody,

I searched in the manual but I couldn’t find it.

Why the pattern 6 is yellow?

Hi, yellow is a lock trig, it would usually mean you recorded some kind of motion sequencing on that step, like for example movement of the filter or something. If it’s like that outside of recording mode, there might be a problem with the button LED though. If one of the colors in the triode bulb dies, then it can no longer produce white light on that step (white light is equal mixture of the red, green and blue).

What happens in test mode?

Look this, I changed to another bank of patterns and the 6 still “yellow”

Turn the Digitakt off, then wait 30 seconds and hold down the FUNC key while you turn it on, it will immediately load up to the pre-boot menu. Hit trig 1 for test mode, then confirm that there are 0 errors. After that you can engage the keys test by pressing trig keys. trig 1 the screen will go all yellow, trig 2 the screen will go black and those are normal. Trig 3 will show all red button lights, trig 4 will show all green lights, trig 5 all blue.

If you hold down all 3 (3,4,5 together) it should produce white light. If your 6 trig looks weird and doesn’t produce one of the colors, then it’s bad (damaged) and needs repair. It will still work normally but the color loss can be confusing.

If your machine is less than 3 years old you can get it fixed on warranty, if it’s more than 3 years you’d have to pay for repair. You can create a trouble ticket if you log into your elektron account on their website https://www.elektron.se/

Also, if you are confident with basic tools, you can try to open the machine by removing the knobs and the 6 screws holding the top panel to open and carefully unplug then re-seat the ribbon cables which connect the 2 PCB boards then reassemble and check for improvement, but its probably a burnt component as opposed to a loose connection.

Thanks!

Ok no problem. I hope it works out for you!
