Digitakt parameter slide

Hello,

Enjoying my Digitakt so far. I find something frustrating when controlling my midi devices with it though: it doesn’t seem to have the same parameter slide that my Analog Four MKII has. So automations are choppy at best. Have I missed something?

Thanks,

I don’t think so. That was certainly a surprise to me too. Hopefully with an OS update

You’d have to live record what you’re describing. There’s no “ramp” or “slide trig” in the Digitakt. Just pLocks and live record of parameters. Short answer, you are not mistaken. Part of the DT’s quirks and limitations.

Yeah, it bums me out too. Even the Korg Monologue has parameter slides.

Live recording is still choppy. Very similar to live parameters on the MD, but the MD had slide…

Yeah no slide on the DT, bum-mer!
Funny how we get used to these things…

Just gonna have to work that LFO.

but is there any Elektron doing slides on midi as per op q ?

That’s actually not a bad idea, but unfortunately there’s also just one LFO :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah… but with P-Lock! making it capable of many things. (midi loopback if need be) to capture multiple slides. OR resample!

Lots of workaround- not convenient but possible

Ah yes. Good call. As I understand, there are no slide trigs for MIDI on devices that have slide trigs.

And I just noticed that you can output to the same channel on multiple midi tracks, so you can have multiple lfos… That might do the trick !

I ve sent elektron a tickect about theses issues: parameters live recording, trigless with non-transparent behavior on unlocked parameters and add a note bout parameter slide that i would really enjoy.

Here the answer received yesterday. No screen shot
“Hi, Parameter sliding might be possible in the future, but at the moment recorder parameter changes will be quantized. Regarding trigless trigs, this is something we are looking into. Not sure which direction we will be taking it”

Gave me some hope.

The Monomachine can do MIDI param slide-trigs. It’s the best. I wish they’d make it happen on the Octa.

You can do that already, right?

Nope. You can parameter-slide an Audio track, and you can param-lock on a MIDI track, but you can’t param-slide on a MIDI track on the Octatrack.

In the latest manual:
“12.4.7 SLIDE TRIGS … Slide trigs are not available to the MIDI tracks.”

A bit of a shame if the Monomachine was capable of handling them.
