I probably can’t help you decide, and personally I use both, often together, where I sample the DT into the OT and then go further with processing/sequencing/arranging.
It’ll probably be beneficial to check out the manual of both machines. Reading a manual can give you some insight. Nowadays with YouTube, you can also see them in action on video, but I personally also like reading manuals before buying.

My opinion on the difficulty is that it’s blown a bit out of proportion. The Octatrack is known for being difficult to learn, but it’s really not that bad. It might require some more time and patience than others, but it’s really doable. It’s not like you’re signing up for an advanced linear algebra or calculus course
