I have been having troubles on and off for over a year now trying to get my digitakt to stay connected to my computer, either to use it in conjunction with ableton or to simply use the transfer app. I have tried every port on my computer, and different usb cables. The provided elektron one is not working as well as any others. Randomly, sometimes it will work, but that is only maybe 3 % of the time.
On windows the error is always: unknown usb device
I also recently got an m2 macbook pro and the digi wont even recognize at all, not as a midi device in ableton, or in the transfer / overbridge apps.

I’ve had this kind of thing on model:samples and one thing that helped, for diagnosis at least, was to take the M:S and the computer only somewhere away from all other cables and sources of interference.
If that works with your DT, then at least you know the problem is interference.
I used to have this issue periodically, sometimes DT was even stored in transfer as a recognized device but wouldn’t find it when plugged in, just endless cycling of searching for a device. Without fail, if I turned the computer off and back on, it would immediately recognize the elektron box.
At some point it seemed to work itself out on it’s own and I wish I knew what I did or updated that changed it. Moral of the story: When all else fails, power cycle your computer and it might recognize your digitakt. This also happened with digitone so I know it wasn’t just my particular digitakt that was the problem.
Also, desktop pc on windows 10 was the source of the issue, I don’t recall having the issue on my windows laptop but it’s possible.
