Digitakt MIDI drifting out of tempo

Hi,

I have hooked up my Digitakt with my Eurorack things via a Hexinverter Mutant Brain. Basically a MIDI to CV/gate module.

I made some tests and I have problems with the Digitakt clock, as it seems not to keep the time…I set both the Digitakt and Ableton at 120BMP, recorded 40 seconds of a 4/4 kick pattern, then cropped the audio file (NO quantization). So you can see here that the Digitakt gets more and more in front of the beat… Does not seem like MIDI jitter to me, because its like a constant linear drift.

Anyone has any experience/knowledge about this? Is this a known bug?

Are you using any synchronization or are you just letting the two clocks run freely?

If the latter then some drifting will occur between any two instruments: that’s not something that’s specific to Digitakt and a DAW.
