Digitakt master + digitone sidechain?

Hi guys! n00b here
I’m confused by the manual saying on p 57 about compressor

For example, if you set SCS to TRK1 where you have a kick drum, every
time the kick drum plays, the compressor lowers the overall sound of the mix.

the Internet says that “source” would get compressed as well which makes no sense to me for sidechain implementation then :confused: I would not expect “source”(eg TRK1) to be compressed

Would the situation be any better in terms of achiving side chaining for eg kicks if i pair up digitakt as master with digitone and lets say play kick on digitone (in other words “source” would be IN L+R)

Digitakt compressor isn’t optimal for sidechain. You might just want to use LFO ducking and save the compressor for compression. It’s probably a little more work (or maybe the same amount just different) but I think for the same result at least watch this and see if it might work for you.
