Digitakt main out issue

Hi,guys

I just started with the digitakt and made my first track using headphone out, but when i switched to using main out ( L&R outputs) in to the mixer the overall sound of digitakt gets kind of low filtered and blurry, no high frequency sounds. Whenever i switch back to headphone out everything sounds great again.

For main out i used elektron audio | cv cable kit. Anybody know why i get the weird and blurry sound?

I am new to this stuff so thanks for understanding, cheers

How are you using that cable exactly? How do you connect the two 3.5mm jacks to your mixer?

Why?

6.35 mm jacks in to the output, 3.35 in to the spliter and then to the mixer

Hey,

What do you mean

I’m using two mono cables straight into my soundcard. Works great!

Yeah I thought so  that is the problem. You are plugging a stereo jack into a mono channel probably. That won’t work and isnt very good for your mixer either

Y cables and Y adapters are used for splitting signals, not to merge signals.

Use a regular 2x mono jack cable and plug the 2 jacks into a stereo channel on the mixer or 2 mono channels (and hard pan those left and right)

Ahh, such an obvious mistake. :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks a lot, Dave!

I mean, why are you using the elektron audio | cv cable kit? The kit is not intended to connect your gear to a mixer.

Just use two mono TR jack cables to connect the L and R channels to a stereo input on your mixer.

Will do! That cable kit must be great for sampling stuff then. Thanks for pointing that out!

It’s not needed with the Digitakt because the Digitakt sums its L and R inputs to mono anyway.

Actually, it is useful to sample stuff from your phone or other stuff that only has a stereo jack output.

True, but there are vastly cheaper cables for that.

Yeap that’s true
