Hi, I have Digitakt (OG) and I love it. Suddenly trigs 9-16 are very dim or not working at all. Reading about it seems likely that the ribbon cable needs to be reseated. I’m not particularly confident with this kind of repair. However, if anyone knows about this and thinks it’s pretty straightforward it might be worth it to me to try myself rather than wait another month to hear back from Electron, then however long it takes to ship/repair. I appreciate any helpful thoughts, thanks!
if the warranty is passed , opening and resetting the ribbon cable is easy enough.
unscrew the screws, take off the encoder knobs … lift up the top carefully .
my digitakt ‘went a bit mental’ too, but resetting the cables did nothing 
did you try the 'test mode ?.. i think hold FUNC when turning on digitakt .

As an update I did open the chassis and removed and reconnected the ribbon cable-- and it worked, but only for a few seconds. I then swapped the ribbon cables and the problem still only affects trigs 9-16. I’m assuming this unfortunately means it’s on the board.

Contact Elektron Support. They might be able to sell you a replacement UI board if they still have parts for the DT around. It’s not that challenging to swap out.
If you got as far as removing the ribbon cable, you can swap the board. It’s removing some screws that hold it to the faceplate and moving the key caps over.
