Hey
Had my DT II for a few weeks now and I am pretty happy with it. It sounds nice and works pretty nice.
But one thing I am not sure how to, if possible at all, is to edit recorded samples after they have been saved. When a sample is recorded, you get the option to trim it and so on, but after it has been saved, I have no idea on how to edit samples, besides on a computer.
Manual does not say anything about sample editing.
Am I missing something?
You aren’t missing anything at all, that’s just the nature of digitakt’s sample management. The only option onboard is to resample back onto another track and edit that on the way in, with the caveat that it will normalize the audio and may sound slightly off from your original audio (although in some cases you might not even notice).
Samples edited on a computer, cut at the zero crossing and with fade in or out will always perform better and be easier to slice. Maybe one day digitakt will get a dedicated editor but for now I wouldn’t count on it.
Anyways, it’s not you.

Ahh cool.
I really hope just some basic post editing will be added later on. Like simple post saving triming of a sample would be great.
That should be possible, without too much hassle, since the triming process is already there. It just have to be made available at post recording.
Anyway, I guess it’s still new, so we will see what will come in the future. Right now they are probably working hard on Overbridge
And since you mention resample, would be nice to be able to sample internally with the compressor on
for real, one day hopefully.
I think that ultimately you probably wouldn’t want this, but it’s always nice to have options!

I think it can be good to sample one shots and so one with compressor. And sometimes you might want different compressor settings on different track and since you only have one compressor, I guess resampling with the compressor is one option
But I have an AR, which I think I am going to move in the audio chain, so it’s last step before the DT II, then I can sample with the compressor from the AR.
