Hi there, I just bought my Digitakt II (updated to 1.01A version), and I uploaded my samples via Transfer. It says I have 97% free after uploading them (most of my samples are 20 sec long). All good there. Now, on my Digitakt II, I have only 2 projects. In my second project, I assigned my samples to 15 tracks, and when trying to upload something to the 16 track, it showed an error, and I can’t upload or record anything else. I go to the storage of my D, and it says that the RAM is 99% full, and my Drive is 97% free.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Can you please help?
The Digitakt 2 has 20 GB of sample storage (+Drive) but can only load 400 MB of samples per project (RAM).
Think of this as slow file storage, and fast storage suitable for realtime sample manipulation.
The Elektron site says this is equivalent to 30 minutes of stereo samples.
Section 13.6 of the manual details sample/RAM management (page 70).
I’d guess you are either loading multiple very long samples, or are loading samples into the pool when you mean to preview them.
If you reeeeeally really want to use your DT as a stem player, maybe try pitching up your samples one octave so that it’s shorter, then pitch it down an octave in the DT when you play it back.
But @Lomoz said above, it is not supposed to be a STEM player, although you could just use a 2,4 or 8 bars of your music and work around that.
