I think you encountered a machine chosen for testing on the production line.

They do not conduct testing on all devices, but rather select a select few.

Possibly… I’ve contacted Elektron directly too with my serial number. If that’s the case then all good.

This reminded me of that U2 thing where Apple forced the album on everyone.

Every new Octatrack 3 comes with a bundled Thom Yorke solo album.

Gear4Musicw have offered a return and replacement for me (or £40 to keep it). I’ve opted for the replacement.

This is my first dabble in the Elektron world and I must say apart from this issue I’ve been loving the short time spent with the Digitakt II so far.

Also this is a nice place to be :+1:

Just reset it to factory settings and you’re good to go.
And you should get rid of that screen protection.

Edit: should have scrolled down a bit - you already have another unit :wink:

Haha, yeah. The unit was mint but I was worried in case it had been returned for some other reason that might have bit me further down the road. All good now though, time to get stuck in.

I’ve just performed a factory reset, but it’s still showing additional Projects, which is a pain as i’m trying to follow Cuckoos tutorial and after creating a new project, I still have named playable patterns and they are in my own freshly created project. Any ideas?

A factory reset will not format / empty your +Drive. Go to the Settings -> System menu, there you can format it.

Then reboot and do a factory reset, then the initial contents will be copied to the +Drive again.

(If there is anything you would like to keep, backup these first with Transfer!)

Ah, perfect, thank you.

I read in this thread above that a Factory reset was enough, but be great to return it to it’s original factory state and start from scratch.
