Digitakt II: is mono sampling now possible?

Hello all!

I have studied the DT II manual but, regarding the sampling settings, I am still a bit confused. As of the latest update, can we still not sample in mono yet, like we can on the original DT? I saw that you can change the line input from stereo to dual mono and is sort of references the fact that it influences the source selection in the sampling mode… but somehow it’s still not clear if you can sample just the left channel or just the right channel, or the sum of both, into a mono sample exactly like on the old DT.

Nope, mono sampling has not been added yet.

Thanks very much for confirming!

It was “promised” a while back, when on firmware 1.02, but since then the only firmware update has been overbridge.

Yeah, we’re still waiting for that update. Recording bass in stereo or hard panned is not cool …

I’m assuming it must be challenging to implement this.

Most likely challenging due to user interface design issues… Imagine there are stereo, L, R and L+R options for every source type - that basically quadruples the current list of sources. So that’s not how they would want to do it, but there is no free space on the sampling screen already. That’s where the original DT’s sampling screen seems to be winning
