Digitakt II Feature Requests

Graceful Voice Release
on a new trigger on the same track

Currently, when a new trig occurs on the same audio track, the previous voice is cut immediately. This can make long releases, open hi-hats, pads, and melodic lines sound unnaturally abrupt.

Instead of full polyphony, could Digitakt implement a lightweight “release voice” mode?

When a new trig is played on a track:

  • the new note starts immediately using the main voice;
  • the previous voice simply receives a Note Off event and is allowed to continue its Release stage until the envelope reaches zero (or for a short, fixed maximum time).

This would not require unrestricted polyphony, only a temporary overlap between the outgoing and incoming notes.

Such a feature would greatly improve musicality while keeping CPU and voice usage under control. It would also make Digitakt behave more like classic trackers and samplers, where retriggering a note does not necessarily hard-cut the previous envelope.

I saw it, but I thought it was laconic

It should be a way to delete or hide the stock samples.

Not sure if other folks’ workflow would be improved by this change, but I know mine would!

What if we could set “tags” for each RAM bank, which determine what samples get preferentially loaded there? For instance, I tend to put all of my kicks on bank A and all of my snares/claps on bank B. If I load a group of samples containing a few different drum sounds, all the samples with “kick” or “BD” in the name would automatically get loaded onto RAM bank A and everything with “snare” or “SD” would get loaded onto B. Feel like it’s pretty easy to implement and I always forget to hit FUNC+Y to select a bank to be loaded to when combing through the +Drive.

Or maybe there’s a more elegant way to implement something like this?

En mode muet, les pistes vierges soit d’une autre couleur

Vert pour les activer
Noir pour les muets
Une couleur au choix pour les vierges qui n’ont pas de séquence

Ou le choix d’attributer librement des couleurs à la piste

I just got the DT2. Being a long time (ab)user of the OG DT (which still rules), I totally enjoy all the new amazing feature of the DT2, for myself it’s a wonderful step forward.
But… I would love to see again the Global FX/MIX options in the DT2 as well!!!

There is a new LED animation when the Digitakt starts up. The same as the Octatrack… :face_with_monocle:

I always saw that animation on digitakt 2… (as I remember)

Lucky you  It certainly doesn’t happen on my DT2 (purchased right after DT2 launch, upgraded to Firmware 1.15A).

@romOne Am I seeing a ‘B’ at bottom left opposite the firmware version ? I wonder if its the ‘B’ revision or the firmware that brings in the change ?

This animation gives that analog warmth your dt is probably missing

If live sampling ever gets added in a future update, I’m curious how it would be implemented. Would it work like the Machinedrum, with a RAM Rec + RAM Play approach?

i don’t know
with OS 1.15A the letter was A

would it be possible to have page mutes per each track or would that be kind of an overkill? oooor am i doing something wrong?^^

bc as for my knowledge rn it is like that, you have i.e. some tracks with 1, 2, 3, 4 pages with different sequences/patterns, you mute page 1, so suddenly on every track only page 1 is active - but i.e. for my preference it’d make sense to not have on every page everything else muted

like i want to make different percussion patterns on 8 pages, so that i could use 2 or 4 or whatever you name it different percussion (pattern) pages together, without touching the pages of the other tracks etc.

i hope that was somewhat understandable haha and i hope as i mentioned in the beginning, that i’m doing something wrong and that it is actually possible to just mute single instead of every track’s patternpage

lovely greetings and have wonderful weekends all together <3

Same here. I’ll get it once they add a global FX/volume control. That’s very important to me and to anyone working in song mode.

Last night I had a dream about a DTII upgrade.
Unfortunately I woke up.
