Digitakt II - creating kits from scratch

Heya,

I wanted to create my first kit with the DTII with my own samples and could not find a way to fully initialise a kit (deleting all the loaded default samples and resetting all the parameters). Do I always have to delete, for each individual track, all the 6 parameters pages by clicking on each of them and func+play (clear)?
When I go to the preset kit page and click on manage, the only option i get is to “save here” so I don’t know where else to check

Thanks in advance for some tips !

What about INIT kit ? (first one)

Also, Track + Clear clears the whole sound, and then copy/pasting the empty track also works.

Yeah I’m fairly sure that init kit

  • has default settings on all parameter pages
  • is the one loaded when creating a new project.

Is it possible to have a blank kit load even on new projects? I tried this earlier overwriting the init kit with blank slots and saving it.

I tried to save an empty kit with no assigned samples but as soon as I load this empty kit There are the default samples inside the patch

One thing to try that works on DT 1: unload the samples from A1-16, those are what it loads into patterns by default.

What exactly did you try and what was the result ? I mean to experiment with

  • overwrite ‘init’ in slot A:001 with my own ‘init’
  • delete ‘init’ in slot A:001 and add my own ‘init’ in another slot
  • overwrite ‘init’ in slot A:001 with my own kit not named ‘init’

… and any other variations I can think of.

After some more experimenting deleting everything from the kit and pool. Still the same result factory sounds get restored when I can make a blank kit and that loads fine but the Init Kit always restores to default.
