Update corrupted file system issue:

• ⇒ I formatted +Drive and made factory reset
• now I am retransferring samples
• like the first time: no problems, even with nested folders in the beginning
• thinking of staying below 8GB and waiting there for firmware update
• secretly hoping that formatting the drive with 1.01 may have solved the issue but don’t want to push it because it takes days to fill or backup the whole drive (and this is no exaggeration)

However, could not delete a new empty folder (with a typo) on the machine - but could delete it from transfer. That maybe an unrelated bug.

A question for elektronauts having the +DRIVE issue.

Are you on MAC OS ?

I’m on Ventura, the TRANSFER app crashed a multiple times the first time I used it to transfert my samples library. Then corrupting my folder and files.

After my +DRIVE format I tried to use a windows 10 session to upload my samples… and so far so good, no crash, no freeze, no issue.

Is this bug related to a MAC OS compatibility ?

All I’ve done is changing my operating system and formatting my +DRIVE after the corrupted files issue.

And for now everything is working fine…

I have formatted the drive 3 times now.
It all starts at around 8 GB free space left on the drive, after that the transfer failed and the corrupted files begins

Ok, I’ll see.

The main difference I have is that the TRANSFER app crashed multiple times while transferring my samples library the first time (it even crashed on the first folder I’ve tried to import).

After the +DRIVE formatting the files import happened without a single crash.

I will have the answer to my new try later this day (DAMN THIS TRANSFER APP IS WAY TOO SLOW!!!).

I know the pain.
0.33mb/s is like a modem from ancient times that is sampleworthy.

edit:
it transferred 2 gb and watched 2-3 episodes of the expanse (never watched before, its surprisingly good!). My mom has a rancid usb stick that is faster.

Yes, I don’t know why there is no sd card slot. Real USB transfer, not over Midi protocol should be minimum in 2024

The +Drive and Transfer issue is a known bug. My DT2 can’t accept multi folder sample transfers without Transfer and the DT2 crashing over and over again. It works sometimes when you unplug the DT2 and wait 10 seconds and then restart Transfer, but even then it’s hit and miss.
I can upload samples in smaller chunks in a piecemeal manner but it took me 3 days to upload 8gb’s of samples.
Even when I uploaded samples successfully, or so it seemed, there are lots of empty sample slots with file names in place but no sound.
I also can’t delete folders from the DT2 or via Transfer without DT2 freezing every time.
Even Syntakt stopped working with Transfer 1.8.6 after the DT2 was used with this version. I had to reinstall an earlier version to get ST to work and then reinstall 1.8.6 again to use DT2.

This is unusable and needs immediate attention.

Damn. I didn’t pay attention. It failed at 11.7GB left (8.3 GB filled). Guess it is corrupted again… Lets see if I can back it up as it is.

It continues? After skipped 600 samples or so.

Maybe the samples were bad. Strange error message in any case.

I’ve got mine coming next week and will be testing it out HARD before I take it anywhere public for performances. I’m excited but pretty wary about the +Drive / Transfer bugs; that seems like a huge oversight in terms of QA, especially given all the hype about increased storage. Hopefully it’s easily fixed in the next firmware.

Almost 17 hours of uploading files straight.
9,4GB left.
Not a single failed transfert.

Everything is working (I have made some long tests,).

What I have done :

Using TRANSFER on windows 10 (on MAC OS I had multiples errors).

Transferring the files using the left window of TRANSFER to the right window (before I was dragging the folders directly from my disks).

Screensaver deactivated on windows and MAC OS (I’m working with parallels desktop for this test).

I haven’t touched any buttons on the DIGITAKT during all the process.

USB directly connected to the computer (no usb hub).

And now I will risk it all by adding a last folder of PIANO LOOPS (size +2GB)
