Digitakt delay when triggering slices via MIDI?

I’ve read somewhere that when triggering slices via MIDI on the Octatrack, there’s a noticable delay (30ms - 60ms) from trigger to sound output.

Is this delay present on the Digitakt, or does anyone know that it used to be on the Digitakt too but is now fixed?

Also, does anyone know the polyphony of triggering slices via MIDI on the same track?

Thanks!

It is not possible to create and trigger slices on the DT.
The audio tracks are monophonic. The midi tracks can have up to four voice polyphony each.

Ah, ok thanks. My mistake. So I take it the OT is the only one that can trigger slices via MIDI.

Do you know it the delay still exists, and what the polyphony is in slice mode?

If you use samples equally spaced, you can create a 30 slices sample with resampling.

The sound can be triggered instantly, but there’s a lag for right slice choice (17ms minimum). A trick using crossfader midi CC solve that lag problem.

There is apparently a similar lag problem with the DT, if you use Start midi CC.
