Digitakt bug (not...) with external mixer effect / pattern reload

Hello,
When tweaking the external master effects (delay or reverb), then reloading the pattern (Shift+no), the display is refreshed to the previously saved values of these master effects, but not the actual value. I mean the tweaked values stay active. For example, from a pattern where the external mixer delay is turned down, if I turn delay up, then reload the pattern, the delay indicator goes back to initial down position, but I can still hear the delay at the level I set it to when tweaking.
I think the actual values should follow the display, of course.
Thanks for correcting this hopefully.

You ideally want to document this in a Bugs thread or via support ticket if confirmed here… topics per issue cannot be readily found

good point, but sorry to ask, I can’t find the Bug section ?.. also forum seems to behave randomly tonight.
I also sent a support ticket.

The server appears overwhelmed. If you have already reported then maybe post feedback in proper bugs thread when you get feedback

it is actually not a bug. Elektron team already kindly responded to my ticket. The behavior is supposed to be like this ; the reloaded values are actually triggered with the first trigger of the pattern when it’s playing. As I was not playing any pattern, the tweaked parameters stayed active. My solution will be to play a silent pattern, with a “useless” trigger with volume at zero or anything like this.

I actually ran into this as well, but in a different way. I noticed that when I hit STOP twice and then trigger a MIDI note, the FX on the external inputs are disabled. In the menu I see that delay and reverb are set, but nothing is audible. Turns out that on 1.51C at least, the external FX only take effect again once I play a note on one of the DT sample tracks. Doesn’t help to start the pattern with only MIDI tracks enabled, that will do nothing for the external FX settings. But just hitting the bassdrum, boom, all the FX are back including the external input FX. Sure seems like a bug to me. :man_shrugging:

It’s not a bug, Elektron knows it does this and it’s considered a compromise for runaway delays killing speakers or ears iirc. It’s not a bug as it’s very much expected behaviour … even though it’s annoying to put it mildly

If one assumes that one cannot rely on the external signal going away on a double-STOP, yes, I can see the point. Thank you for the explanation! I wish I had seen this in the manual somewhere. Did I miss it?

Still, as regards this thread, I think that the “problem” the OP was seeing was not in fact going away by restarting the sequencer but by the sequencer playing another note on an internal track, a non-muted one at that. Because that certainly is what I see when I play around with it.

It’s just curiosity at this point, no need for a long reply.
