You have to make sure that program change receive is checked on DT and vice versa prog ch send on A4.
Should work like a charm

Can you have DT as master but receive program change from A4?
In addition to what @manolo explained, you also need to match the sending (on the A4) and receiving channel (Digitakt) for program changes.
On the A4 it’s PROGRAM CHANGE OUT CHANNEL which needs to match PROGRAM CHG IN CH on the Digitakt.

works fine now… the program was the auto channel
