Digitakt 2 has 1 factory project

This is not the end of the world obviously as i plan to make my own songs, but its just strange that the device has only one factory track/project.
It seems to have a lot of presets, kits and samples and i went ahead and did a factory reset to see if that would do anything.
I did but it used on reverb from a store in NY who did a great job repackaging the device, but maybe they wiped something out?
Or maybe it only comes with one track.

I just wanted to study the tracks and see what i could learn!

Any ideas…?

Also i see a lot of people had screen issues, mine is following suite, and has the lines going across it :man_facepalming::pensive:

It definitely has more than one track! Did you hold the FUNC key while powering on the Digitakt and then select the Factory Reset option?

With regards to the screen issue, Elektron devices have a three year warranty so you may be able to get it repaired. See here for more info: Warranty & registration information : Knowledge Base (Beta)

In Elektron lingo, “Track” is not the same as “Project”.

Yes, there is only one Factory Project.
Inside, you’ll find 2 Banks of 16 Patterns.
Each Pattern is composed of 16 “tracks” (in the sense of lane) that let you trig a Preset (sound).

Now to make a track (in the sense of song), you’ll most likely use one or a few chained patterns.

I advise you to read the manual, there are many interesting knowledge in there, and it makes it easier to understand what the machine does + what this forum has to offer in terms of tricks.

Thank you, since i bought it used I’m not too sure how the warranty will work, but i i am going to check. I got a decent deal on it but if the screen isn’t covered and is going to cost me then, its not much of a deal lol and i might send it back.
I did do a full factory reset, but i think i just misunderstood the hierarchy of the lay out, its a little different than my DN1

Thanks!
I will check that out, i figured maybe i was just going the wrong way about finding the patterns… that makes sense! I’ll dig into that here in a bit.

Haha sheesh! Yah the patterns… where under patterns! Go figure! Sheesh :rofl::rofl:
