I just placed an order with Sweetwater last night. I got a call this morning, that even though the page says out of stock, they had one/some in-stock. Not sure if I just got lucky on timing, but I just got a shipment notification a few minutes ago.

Looks like they are slowly making their way back in stock.

I ordered an Octatrack from Sweetwater a month ago and it still hasn’t shipped! Maybe I’ve been dealing with the wrong dude…

Why can’t you buy an Octatrack anymore? I mean, seriously, they’ve been back-ordered everywhere for months. I read elsewhere on this forum that someone has been waiting since January to receive his. No online retailers that I’ve contacted have any concrete idea when they’ll be getting more.

Its because they suck and are being outsold by the A4 and AR by a factor of 10…

Today, my “Sales Engineer” told me that they have some units, but they’re all shipping to people who placed pre-orders weeks or months ago. He said they’ll be getting more (but couldn’t say when), but he said almost every unit they get already pre-sold by the time they arrive. He wouldn’t tell me how many people are currently waiting in the queue. He concluded by saying that the best way to get one is to place a pre-order (duh!). In short, he wasn’t terribly helpful.

I ordered from GC. I hit the president’s day sale back in mid-feb for %15 off.

I don’t think I’ll order from them again if I can help it however. A rep sent me some canned email after 2+ months of waiting and suggested I might try some other “similar product”, but then in the next sentence let me know that it should ship in two days. It actually did not ship two days later, but after about two weeks it showed up unannounced with no shipment confirmation email. I’m sure all the retailers are backlogged, but it was some weird customer service…

I finally broke down and bought a used one, which just arrived yesterday. It’s virtually new, so I guess I can’t complain.
