Desktop (stereo) filter

Honestly, I’d pay 100USD for one in fair to good condition. Personally I really, really like the distortion for one. (I think they call it “buzz” on the unit). It has a momentary kill switch just like the filter, which is lets one add some interesting/organic distortion patterns to whatever you run through it.

Its not that I didn’t end up finding uses for it, but it isn’t a character filter.

Isn’t the filter on the moog voyager also stereo or just left and right mono?

sorry dude…which one are you referring at?
Because Meris and Oto are two different brands.

Might you’re referring to Oto Biscuit?

No need to be sorry … totally my bad,. The correct name is ottobit jr. Should have checked the spelling/name

made the list a bit neater

Oh also it looks like the Sherman Filterbank is missing from the mono list. Gets wilder than the restyler - more focus on distortion. They just released a version in a smaller casing.

This is actually stereo - http://ericasynths.lv/en/shop/standalone-instruments-1/acidbox-iii/

Thanks so much for pointing this out. This makes it very attractive now. I’ll fix the list.
Wonder if anyone on the forum owns one?

Thanks for contributing everyone. Keep them coming…, happy new year !

Mutator, despite being low-pass only, is still my favourite.

Mono, but a price friendly option

Not desktop exactly but smallish footprint: Alesis Micron goes for about 150 on eBay and gives you stereo input to around 20 nicely modelled filters including formant, comb, phase and other exotic types.
Oh and that’s 2 filters in series or parallel with various drive models too.

had T-Resonator - awesome for mangling, destroying beats; you can really get lost in it, in a good sense.
the cons: noisy AF - they supposedly fixed that a bit on MKII - has quite a prominent hi-cut when engaged.

I also had Electrix Filter Queen… awesome unit for the price, sounds amazing, super musical and hands on… I can’t think of any cons, except maybe a light hiss when engaged…

I had to sell both on different ocassions to finance other gear (Analog Heat and Analog Four, now that I think about it), but I do miss them from time to time… I loved the delay on the T-Resonator, wish I could have a stereo delay that behaves that way
