I would have agreed around the time you posted this last year, but have since discovered how much my Deluge sound design skills are lacking, after hearing the two “Boards of Deluge” preset packs. It’s seems up there close to Zeeon or Sunrizer on iPad, sound-wise. Definitely worth a fresh look. Factory presets just don’t do it justice.

I’m going through a similar debate right now. I’m thinking of getting one of those two and getting rid of a bunch of gear, to focus primarily on a “single box approach” which I enjoy,
I already have an mpc1000 with jjos which is a fantastic machine, overall I actually enjoy it more than my Octatrack, that I sold a year ago…I miss it occasionally but overall I’m still happy with the choice.
