Deleting Sample - Critical Issue

Clickbaity title, but real issue:

You can permanently delete samples without any warning or even knowing what projects they were used for. You have 10 projects and 100 samples, how do you delete a sample? Do you need to check all projects?

As of 1.04 I can just erase sample forever and they will appear as empty slots in projects they were uses. THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF THE PROJECT WAS WRITE PROTECTED

So to delete pretty much anything you need to check all your projects because if one uses it, and you delete the sample its gone FOREVER

Sounds like a major issue to me, and yes Overbridge hopefully will address this but still the OS as of now still has a way to f*ck your projects up. Please at least make sure “write protection” is actual write protection…

Hi bro’
I had issues understanding the elektron workflow with sounds samples etc
Thanks to that tutorial…

The best way imo is to export your sample bank and name it projectXX for instance.
Same thing for the sounds of your project: sysex dump -> all banks -> projectXX sounds.
Just make a ALL backup for each project

Use Elektron transfer for that.

It seems to work even if you change the name of repertory of your samples Drum->drum machines for instance.
I don’t use OB. it’s a big waste of time and no fun at all I think… Audio only
Have a good jam and fun always
