Yes init patch is the only patch I ever need. Really annoying when a synth doesn’t have a true init patch. Some still leave modulation on, filter on etc. in the so called init patch. If so always create my own, save it, and go from there.
Patches particularly bad in the A4/AK
I know this is an old thread…but seriously…just delete the presets and move on…lol
This is what I loved about getting the AIRA System-1. Only 8 patches (before the update), and they were all empty on mine. I loved having no choice but to learn the machine and make my own. Love the interface of it as well.
Wish I could merge my A4 with the interface of the System-1 that would be heaven.
If anyone knows of the midi-fu required to do that…let me know!
And after the update all the extra patch slots are just init sounds (on mine they were anyway). The software System-1 has a big library of sounds (and some of them are really good, if you ignore all the screechy EDM ones) but it’s such a fast machine to make sounds on, you can sit down and fill the patch memory in an hour or so, back them all up and start again.
The factory Monomachine patches are also quite weak compared to what you can actually get out of the thing when you start pushing it.
