Maybe a few of you have run across this problem, and I’m just missing something.
My second channel on my A4 has a dimmer light than the other channels, it can still play notes/sounds, but if I try to program a sequence, playback does not happen.
Yes, I’ve hit function and the problematic channel, it’s not a muting issue.
Did you actually try it or just read the word mute and figure that it isn’t mute? All the symptoms point to song mute, which is different from the normal track mute (SONG + TRACK instead of FUNCTION + TRACK). Dim track light, keyboard works but sequencer doesn’t play.
It’s a common “problem” and everyone’s bumped into it with the A4, that’s why it’s a classic. Not because it’s a funny meme reply.
This has just happened to me to!? Any answers? And yep its not a muted track , track 4 and fx track have a dim LED when un-muting and won’t play a trig sequence.
I’m not in front of my machine, but I think I know what’s the problem.
There’s 2 ways to mute tracks - Direct ( via the 6 first sequencer -step buttons starting from the left )) or via via the 6 track-buttons on the side ( witch will mute the tracks only in the chain or payttern of a song)). If you mute in song-mode and the track is not muted in direct-mode the led willstay half-litt . Muting tracks has no influence on the capebility to play them via the keyboard .
So in a song all tracks can be muted indepedent from the pattern- mutes.
dim led = track active in pattern but muted in song or chain
But you can still play it live = FANTASTIC !
But this is allready explained above - if this dousn’n solve it I don’t see another poss.
I don’t see how the global-settings can be of influence …
Resetting solved the issue. But next time it happens I will try what you said Ive had 2 n half years with this machine (using Ableton) but sad to say I am only just using the sequencer! haha Making a conscious effort to use the sequencer now instead of Ableton.
