D&B&Jungle Battle 9: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

This is how I work too. Sometimes the hardest part is choosing a take, because I could just record take after take after take and all of them have standout bits and happy accidents so it’s always hard to pick a favorite. That’s one thing I really like about these challenges, they force me to choose one and go with it.

I really didn’t notice the mixing on your track being that off; I thought it was perfectly fine (maybe it’s because my Sony headphones overhype the bass on everything anyway). I did think some of the high-end vocal sounds at the end were a little too harsh, though with this genre it’s always hard to tell if that’s intentional.

My only other feedback on yours is that I think the middle section (3:00 to 3:30 or so) could be cut by a few bars. I really love when the bass comes in at 1:35 or so.

@rosiusyves and @KingDuppy I really appreciate the effort you put into your tracks. From my experience with dawless jams I can only congratulate you to your results. I’m not an expert in setting up overbridge, but is it possible to mix single channels afterwards?

Single channels as in each track coming from Overbridge? Yes, absolutely.

I don’t really use Overbridge, actually. I use it sometimes to see what I’m doing with a filter or LFO, but I never use it to record because I like to record a lot of takes, so multitracking the DT would eat up too much disk space.

Instead I usually record the stereo outs of the DT to two tracks. Less disk space and less decisions to make later.

Are you using OB in standalone mode, or as a setup with a DAW?

Nope, no Overbridge on OT  Same as @KingDuppy

Multiple tries at a 1-track recording. Mixing and performing in 1 go.

Mistake? Too bad… again. Or just keep it :ok_hand:

I like how it keeps things human and organic. It’s also a really nice challenge and it helps me finish stuff.
