When Max 9 came out I’ve seen the icon on reddit and thought that people are memeing. Turns out they weren’t.

I don’t mind it, but what’s odd is that it doesn’t follow the theme of having a stylised version number like the two previous ones:
It sort of does! Nine lines are used to make it.

Of all the versions, Max 8 had the best icon in my opinion.

or that ugly A is supposed to be a roman 1. like: IX , 10 minus 1 = 9.
If you take it as roman numerals it says 1510 (MDX).
For that it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. I probably wouldn’t have bitten for 25 or even 33 %…
9 looks nice (I agree that the logo could look better but writing this sentence is as much energy I’m going to waste on that).
I like some of the smaller changes like the global record and the CPU meter on the side. All my Max8 projects have loaded without a hitch but they’re not all that complex.
Couldn’t care less about all the coding enhancements, I got Max to get away from coding. The new abl objects are intriguing but I’ll have to sacrifice some time on them… later. To me it’s just another set of plugins to explore - fun but not essential.
The exciting new features for me are the jitter fx and some of the new 3D features. Again, time is an issue right now but I’ll get there some day.
Didn’t really dive into the new documentation deeply yet but I remember something being said (written) about a brand new update in that department. Didn’t notice anything new myself - it’s still written in the very economical minimal style as before.
I didn’t try the demo before buying so last night was my first try with it. My initial feeling is that I have too many time consuming hobbies!
