CV Key Tracking Issue

Soooooo I’m having an issue with the CV pitch output on my Analog Keys. I’m running it into an Intellijel Atlantis (and have tried some other modules) and have found that when I run a sequence from the AK, the pitch tracks perfectly.

However! When I try playing the keyboard it seems to play a random pitch. It will sometimes play the correct pitch for a few notes, then just go off randomly again.

When I use the CV setup menu and select a pitch, I also get the correct pitch every time.

I’m using a 1/4"-1/8" stereo adapter with a splitter cable. I’m currently on OS v1.12B.

Any thoughts?

Sounds similar to an issue I had before, turned out to be a bad cable - worth checking your cables and splitters maybe?

Yeah I’d played around with a bunch of combinations so I figured I’d ruled that option out. I finally found one plug that seated really snuggly in the AK output and seemed to give a fairly consistent pitch (with the occasional off note) so I physically held it in place while playing and it seemed to fix the problem. I think the rocking of the synth when I physically played the AK (it had the slightest bit of wobble) was enough to throw off the pitch.

Long story short… I went online and ordered a Grayscale Synapse. Hoping that makes my life easier and I’d planned on getting one eventually anyhow.

edit: Just tried the holding the cable in trick and it wasn’t working as well as last night even with the AK on a stable platform. Really hoping the Synapse helps 0_o.

So! Elektron support was very helpful. Apparently it’s a known issue from 1.12B onward. The velocity of the key presses somehow becomes automatically mapped to the pitch. If you go into the sound editor with the CV track selected, you have to manually set everything to zero and everything should work great!
