Firstly, moderators it’s time to fuse the A4 and AK menus together now.
I’ve got a recently acquired AK and I’m doing some CV stuff with it. I’m finding a few problems and I can’t explain it.
I have three CV tracks activated. Two CV tracks are pulling gate trigs from track 3, and the third is receiving notes from the CV track channel on the AK, playing two drone notes over a 64 step sequence (trigs on 1 and 33)
Now, if I press a key on track 4 I get this great gate (controlling env-LPF, and HPF) on the modular and it starts off the filter which is then modified by the CV pitch info coming in from the CV track.
The modular is playing self-osc tones from the LPF so the note I play on track 4 (gate) effects the extent to which the filter opens, thereby effecting the pitch of the overall sequence even though the CV track is sending notes.
Now, if I go to track 1 on the AK I can play 3 notes from the sound on track 1 but if I play a 4th it triggers a gate to the modular as if it was track 4. Why?
If I go to track 2 on the AK I can play two notes from the sound on track 2 before of triggers a gate.
If I go to track 3 I can play one note and the second triggers the gate on the modular.
To clarify, why would track 1-3 trigger gate to the modular even though they are routing no information to the CV outputs?
There are no neighbour’s tracks allocated to an OSC.
It sucks as I want to run the sequence while jamming on other tracks on the AK.
hey kotare, when you hit function + kit and scroll all the way down to poly settings what does it say there? it sounds like it is rotating the voice allocation.
It was on RESET but I tried every voice cycle option and some of them made it worse - as in two voices before gating the modular as opposed to three.
I’m at a bit of a loss…
Mind you, I’m away from my AK at the moment - is there a separate voice cycle option per track or is it global?
Plus it doesn’t explain why track one would use 3 voices before sending gate, track 2 two voices, and track 3 one voice. That seems too much like a pattern…
To clarify: CV tracks 3, 4, and CV are all sending CV params. When you hit the 4th note on track 1 it trigs a CV gate. When you hit a 3rd note on track 2 it sends a CV gate. Confirm?
It MAY be a voice stealing issue, but I’m not sure. Turn off the OSCs (incl sub osc) for the voice tracks that are only sending CV (ie. track 3 and 4).
You won’t be able to play track 3 w/o triggering a gate if you have it setup as I noted above. 1 and 2 should be fine though…
