While keeping the main firmware source code secret, could elektron publish an api and allow users develop their own custom plug-in machines. Plugin machine files could be uploaded from CF and activated on the OT.
Not quite monome’s Aleph, but being able to create your own custom 6 knob OT Midi processing machines, Audio/sample processing machines and even simple wavetable synths would be a brilliant step for the OT.

dream on!
thats like asking for audio in,midi out and third party plugins in reason!
mokomo,
check:
http://hotoolz.tk
for a free MMP/Pd patch that allows you to remap your 6 OT encoders individually to internal machine/MIDI CC parameters using an ios device and a MIDI interface.
the patch originally was intended to do other things, but the encoder remapping was easy to implement, so there it is… i will be expanding it this spring to allow multiple (6 or 8, depending on various factors) custom encoder groups/banks, instead of currently just one.
cheers
PS. read the readme.txt carefully and feel free to ask questions regarding setup.
do you use any non max compatile objects?
thanks
Doesn’t Reason have audio in and midi out already?
The patch is all Puredata Vanilla, so everything should be a breeze to port back to Max.
FYI: I wrote the original version of the patch in maxforlive, and then adapted it for MobMuPlat. If you want to have a look at the M4L version, let me know.
