Got pulled into a phase modulation patch today on the modular that’s been loitering around my studio for a bit. For me a second passed, for the rest of the world it was 30 minutes
Anyway, all analog phase modulation using three VCOs, an LFO and analog TZPM phase shifting module. It’s like a three operator with feedback patch, similar to typical DX style algorithms, but then also through the filter.
The delay and reverb are from the Digitone (using it as class compliant interface since I wasn’t in the studio).
Morning test with Shakmat Griffin’s Claw as a melodic pattern generator for Strega and 0Coast through PamPro’s quantizer.
Addac VC Transitions for switching states from Strega/0Coast/DFAM.
I couldn’t figure out why my P-6 wouldn’t sample anything yesterday (turns out the input was too low for threshold recording, doh!), so I sent a double bass loop through the P-6 scatter effect and into Mojave and recorded that instead:
A little self indulgent jam perhaps, but moving forward with my Alan Vega inspired shenanigans:
Rytm and A4 going into OT, which is basically just passing the signals unaffected through to Oto Boum, as per usual.
The A4’s output is fed through Red Panda Tensor, so I can manipulate the pitch and direction of the bassline live, which is really fucking fun to do.
I have a Particle (granular delay) hooked up on the guitar pedalboard which I’m tempted to do the same thing with, except with the Rytm.
edit: forgot to unplug usb cable from the A4, hence the noise.
Revisited an old loop I made on OG DN and gave it some drums (now it’s DN II only). For some reason, this always works well, but whenever I try to do something new with DN II, I don’t like it.
Will definitely refine this one, jam it out and play the bass on SH-01a! Obviously still chaotic .
Worked out how to sample again Here’s a sampled drum loop through some P-6 master FX and Mojave into a Tascam and then resampled back into the P-6 and sent through the same setup a few times:
