Latest sounds from my Waldorf Protein.
Our latest audiovisual document attempts to reframe an earlier improvisation within a set of quadrants so viewers can see our layered instrumental performances occur in tandem. The rhythmic layer involved the MC-707 and a J-Bass. On the second layer, we used the V-Synth and Bass VI processed through the EHX Mel9 pedal’s High Choir setting. Though the music was recorded in February of 2025, late this April we decided to make it the basis for a new song. At the end of the video, you can see us begin to experiment with manually mixing the audio on our Tascam Portastudio 2488neo.

For the last week I had this distorted bass thing (DN) with analog drums (DRM1 mk4) that wasn’t really going anywhere. So I added some shoegaze-inspired synth guitars (Analog Keys patches I made a few years ago) and ended up with this.
I quite like it.
