Cheers @Tchu, I’ll have to check that out!
Tell me what you think about it.
Tonight’s A4 jam.
Last year, I bought a pair of Danelectro Spring King reverb pedals when Sweetwater was selling them cheap. It’s a spring reverb with a set of three short springs, and a pre-delay provided by a simple slapjack echo. These are easily modified to provide longer, variable delay times as well as feedback. So I did. And added pots and paint, because the original was fugly.
Here’s a quick example of the Model 10 running through the original and modified Spring Kings. I hit it pretty hard, so it’s a bit clicky, but I am too lazy to re-do it. The second example is longer, since it can do more stuff now.

I really like this!
ooo i like these, love the ending of the second one!
Thanks, yeah, me too. That was a neat (and accidental) effect. The delay used in these is not great, so results in pretty severe (and interesting) degradation at longer times or higher feedback settings. Which I like.
Octatrack and Eurorack (and a little Rytm) - absolutely love this sample material I dug out of the Prelinger Archive!
Nice!!
Good sounding springs!
OT + 707
I realized I’ve done over 70 current sounds recordings the past 3-ish months. Should be a release in there somewhere at one point
They’re not bad! There are three in each pedal… they are short, but still have a pretty decent sound. It’s just what I need for getting my Mort Garson on…
Everyone needs to get a little Mort on once in a while!
I’d love to write something like the little pseudo-baroque bit on Black Mass: Lucifer.
It’s kinda like the town building stage of Actraiser if you’ve ever played/seen that game.
I just need to figure out the three parts. I can play a similar melody, but never get the complementary parts quite right. Requires some good counter-pointery.
I need a lot of Mort, most of the time. Keeps me in good spirits.
Had a really great week, the start of something new in a while. A4+Rytm, forgive the muddiness.
Mpc X, Syntakt, Digitone. As always the mix is f***ed, but it is what it is. More of a test of the 3 machines together.
some exotic sounds with serge + ot as a looper.
mort Garson was a hell of a composer (no pun intended) and a fantastic synthesist. No, I’ve never played that game (I am not a gamer), but that entire album takes me right back to my childhood, watching late night broadcasts of spooky movies of the era.
my most recent VCV Rack explorations after being away from it for years and finally getting a laptop that can handle the processing
Holy shit
