I switched to Cubase as my DAW of choice last year as I felt like I was no longer the target audience for Reason. I still love Reason as an inspiring environment to play in, but these days I need something that just lets me get on with what I need to do and, sadly, Reason ain’t it any more.
Today’s murky jam.
ARII, SubH, Minitaur, OB6, Guitar.
You are obviously at a level of knowledge where you don’t need to archive everything from creation to execution (…i guess) so i understand that you only want to record when everything is ready.
For now i tend to record a lot, even if it means keeping only a few samples to feed my M:S or later DAW usage.
I love Ableton for the creativity it can facilitate and the ease to manage errors when recording audio, but i’m planning to use my good old 4-Track to taste again the thrill of the good take and to add this real color/saturation.
Funny thing is, since i’ve started patching, the Octatrack question is making a discreet comeback in my mind.
Don’t know that much about Serge, but i’m pretty intrigued.
While I was drinking my coffee this morning, I wondered if I should fill a burlap sack with bricks, shove my head in, then dive headfirst into an empty swimming pool, or listen to @Fin25’s latest post in the “Current Sounds” thread.
I am almost certain I made the right choice.
But it was a close call.
Thank you but I don’t think I have some kind of a high level of knowledge but my computer has a capacity and I don’t want to record everything like I did with the Soma trio I won’t even listen to them all. It was way too much.
Computer is a great solution for sure. Actually a Macbook Air or even an Ipad would be great for what I need.
Enough to be instantly recognizable no matter the instrument !
Can’t reply more, it makes the forum bot angry. (death threats and stuff…)
Experiment well with Serge then !
First jam with the new MC101 update. Super simple sound design but the editing works quite well.
huh, hearing some tempest grooves? sounds cool! and how do you find it now?
edit: hmm sorry, maybe it is not tempest?
You’re right, it’s not. It’s an Analog Four I’m borrowing from a friend. (Yesterday’s snippet was the Tempest.)
Another MC101 quicky…
Another with the A4.
Drambo and Drumcomputer.
nice!!
More please
Getting there…
Hell yeah. I love the smell of pulverized mortar and myelin in the morning…
Koala for all the sampling and sequencing; Tonestack Pro and GSI Varispeed doing most of the resampling; mixed in AUM.
Another digital roland bath
