Still having a blast with the Mono Lancet, and even managed to make use of the snare and some of the percs from the My daughter’s drum machine thread

Digitone, arpland.
The rhythm is all weird (and the kick sucks haha) but I might get there. I think the last arp could be fun.

Made this minimal track in the midst of a much necessary break from all social media (and my phone in general). Sampled my iphone’s keyboard for that Jan Jelinek percussion and a podcast episode with Jesper Kouthoofd for the vocals

You created the sound of my wife after curry night
It’s like you got the impulse response of the downstairs loo perfect too!

Cheers.
I think Polivoks and Perkons are going to be good friends.
this is perfect
what is the process here? is there anything specific you’re doing to achieve that micro articulation or is it just kind of what the pulsar does?

Thank you. I don’t think it is what the Pulsar really does. It takes a bit time to tame it and find the balance. I guess it is all about the approach. I simply like exploring the subtlety of an instrument, focusing on textures that it can produce, contrasts and the idea of using the silence just like another sound source. Sometimes I make some hidden noises even louder by using EQ via OT. For example there is this continuous background noise/hiss. It is actually reverb channel of Pulsar and I took it, processed it with OT. Nothing complicated though, it was just an EQ. Generally EQ is my favourite fx.
In this case, for this kind of stuff it doesn’t matter what I use. To be honest I don’t know if I need an expensive gear but if the workflow is fun then I try to pay for it.

good point. its true that ive never heard the pulsar sound like this before, but you are able to extract this character from anything. really impressive
thank you for the insight. i actually use the octa “equalizer” a lot for the same technique. it’s filters also impart a very nice timbre onto samples like this. i love that process. very interesting
on a related note. i have noticed recently that my (newly acquired) 1010 blackbox filters add a very nice quality to field recordings and more glitchy/noisy material. it’s a character i’ve been after for a long time. octa’s filters are some of my favorite digital ones but these are really good too. its a weird, difficult to describe quality that like smudges but retains a lot of the texture somehow

After being gearless for a couple months, it felt good to put down some trigs and P locks again.

Nice! i’m thinking at a similar setup. Melodicer doesn’t send velocity, right?
