Cure for GAS

hi fellow weaklings … lets not over exaggerate the topic, just give in to you gear lust and spend another grand or two on some synth you think you may have to have …

STOP

I found the cure for GAS !!!

it is called:

shitty toys from the past from ebay! … here … this …

duophonic, 2octave, digital synth, not longer than my lower arm … I bought for just 10 Euro, second hand on ebay in my neigborhood …

who needs all the fancy stuff?

I have a wide selection of instruments and even beats (walz included) in this machine!

there is no output but the mono speaker, no input but a external powersupply(not included, but the batteries were) --.

this little thing sounds so shit, I will have to run , and beforehand rewire, hard mod the case, unscrew things… and run it through my FB2, before it will be playable … no instant gratification. … no immediate presets that take you back into your early teenage days when you were trippin on acid , thinking the world is a good place … NO! … shit sounds, no one hit wonder beat machine… hard work is waiting for this baby to sound good, with the question remaining, if it EVAR will …

head out now! … spend a twenty ! try to work this bitch for a change, not your XXX 2500 Euro synth …

get the fuck back to basics, shut up, give your wife your credit card and enjoy your new yamaha PSS 30 (duophonic!) … with record button !!! ---- 3 octaves actually …

and YEAH, have a sip of nice sparkling table water on side

Is the answer a harpy GF or Wife who won’t STFU….?

The best cure I’ve found for GAS is my Octatrack, actually. Not an inexpensive solution, but it breathes new life into all of my other gear…most of which is very inexpensive excluding my other Elektrons. Once I got it, I more or less stopped wanting for anything else.
With that as a basis, I pretty much stop my GAS dead with iOS apps, which rarely exceed $20 on the high end.

I do want to grab a few of those dirt cheap Yammy 2 OP keyboards tho…to be used as OT sample food. Thanks for the reminder.

My best advice to people who check clips on YouTube of stuff you want to get is:

Check some clips of instruments/machines you already have. And then you’ll notice you’ve got a good studio already.
