I was wondering if there is a pssoibility to cue samples while playing live ?
I know about the preview function but when u preview the sample it appears in the whole mix which is kinda distracting and and „unprofessional“.
Maybe there is a function where u can listen to the sample by headphones solo before u choose it.
nope.
its only got ‘1 x stereo’ out , outputs/headphones are the same output.
u could probably figure out some routing via overbridge, but thats getting a little complicated.
you could use left/right panning (left for main out, right for cue) but you’d loose all the stereo / nice fx etc.
focus each track on a type of sound (a few for drums drums , basslines , pads ).
setup up loops in length/key etc.
use the naming convention on samples/folders to help.
a bit of prep would mean you dont need to hear things when loading/cueing etc… not ideal.
keep tracks on their own bank , small things like that to keep things simple.
Yeah I prepare loops and most drums by bpm and key in ableton but when I want to drop a vocal sample I usually do it on the fly.
So more preparation is needed I guess !
