It’s so fun and addicting. Is it only the digitakt/digitone/machinedrum that have it? And no model samples?
I know there’s quick performance and scenes on the A4 and ARytm, but any other machines have it like it exists on the digitakt?

The model:samples has it too. If you like Ctrl all just wait till you get your hands on the octatrack crossfader…
Yep, OT crossfader is much more powerfull,
Control over 250 parameters for each track, with min / max values.
It can be combined with CTR ALL if you set all tracks on the same midi channel, with midi loopback.
So yes, OT can do CTRL ALL
I never really found ctrl-all too useful TBH
sure it can be handy sometimes but I vastly prefer custom scenes which allow far more precise, differential, targetted and controlled performance IMHO.
It’s the best writers block cure I know of! If I’m stuck, I just call up some old patterns, ctrl all to oblivion, and something new and fresh emerges
Exactly this, sometimes sounds emerge that I never could think of. And I prefer it over the x fader because it’s sequencable. Which sadly the crossfader is not.
Of course it is, with midi loop back and midi tracks! ![]()
So are scenes, you can even record crossfader and scenes changes, add lfos, TRC…
Possible with any external midi gear of course, for people afraid of midi loopback. Midi doesn’t hurt. Audio can.
I never thought about the thru operating as an out like this, but yeah, of course it would. Genius.
I always thought you had to lose your out if you did the loop back. I was wrong.
Yes. Even with scenes and performances on the Rytm I’m missing that good old Machinedrum trick for live work. F*ck the hell out of it with function+knobs, then revert to normal with function+mode.
Yeah thank you for highlighting this. This is definitely a super crtl all mode. But for me personally it lacks the immediacy. I love my MD, loved my octas as well but I am getting old
That old? I’m almost 44. I hope I’ll still enjoy /understand OT when I’m 64. ![]()
About sequencing, I guess you use MD CTR AL machine? Is it possible to sequence CTR ALL with DT / DN / MS?
Try CTRL ALL with OT :
Midi loopback, same channel for all tracks, done. Save part before !
I referred to my age more because I defend my machines “back from my days”
I had a DT only for a short time but afaik there’s no “machine” for this.
Did I imagine this or did the AR and A4 recently get CTRL-All too, similar to Digitakt.
I can only speak for the A4MKII, which doesn’t got a CTRL-ALL functionality, but it got this:
[MKII] It is now possible to control multiple performance macros simultaneously with the QUICK PERF AMOUNT knob.
That’s a quite nice addition, when you run out of hands to turn performance knobs … ![]()
Nevertheless: With a little bit of preparations the perfomance macros are a way better “CTRL-ALL” feature variant than the original one (selective, more precise etc.pp.).
One of my favorite things to do is to make a drum beat and then control all it pitch it down etc. Great creative tool when used like that
If you’re wanting to control all but leave some things the same you can p-lock them in place and they won’t change while the rest will.
For example lock the pitch of the kick and then control all to lower the pitch of every thing else
Control All is cool for live tricks. Reload.
With Octatrack crossfader and scenes, you can make a whole song with one pattern, and/or make crasy tricks moving it by 1 or 2 millimeters.
I’d like Control All, Quick Perf, Crossfader like, Chance on all Elektrons!
