Crossover on inputs?

So I just hooked up my Octatrack as follows:

Minitaur into input A
Ambika into input B
RYTM kick into input C
RYTM Master output into input D

Inputs B, C & D work fine

however, on input A I can hear the audio that is on input B (Ambika)? the settings are fine on every input track…
master settings seem fine… on input A I hear the audio from A & B at the same time. input B I only hear the audio from input B…

is there a hidden function I’m not remembering ?

and, yes, I have the THRU track for input A set as “A” not “A B” or “A+B”

even weirder… when I make Track 5 a THRU track for input A all I hear is input A… this only seems to happen when track 1 is a THRU track???

why?

OK I did an empty reset and now it works fine
