I thought it would be simple to control the crossfader via expression pedal of my GR-30, but those guys at Roland decided to leave only CCs# 1-32 and 64-95 to be controlled, so #48 cannot be accessed, and now I’m thinking what can be done. Of course Midipal would solve this problem but it is out of stock for a long time already…
Could you tell me, how would midipal solve this?
By changing transmitted CC number from any to #48, I believe.
midi solutions sells a device that can do kinda the same as midi-pall.
if you want a new shiny machine that does this translation-trick.
If you are at least a bit technical, you can buy RaspberryPi, cheap USB MIDI interface, install Pure Data, translate incomming MIDI there and send it back. You can even set it up so it boots straight to your PD patch with no screen or mouse/kb attached. Cheap one purpose little box.
Oh right cop_porn, I was being a little slow…
I have an iConnectmidi4+, which allows you to change CC messages, as far as I can remember. There’s that, plus it’s a super useful MIDI routing (and iOS audio routing) box. Not the cheapest, though.
