Crossfader speed options

I would feel like this probably has an answer already.
What I am wondering is if you can control the speed in which the cross fader transitions?
That’s sort of a standard on dj mixers like the rane mixer for example.

I saw the post about the crossfader transition trick.
What made me think of this was the dj scratch technique that someone posted. So awesome! Even if I set pitch on one scene to be A64 and B-64. It’s a slow change in pitch more like a pitch bend.
My only thoughts are using the LFO maybe?

Cheers peeps!

No cross fader curves on the OT. You just need to move your hand faster

I was thinking about this a little while ago too. I think you can fake it by using multiple “straight line” LFOs, so that the values max/min out in, say, the middle of the crossfader instead of at the ends. Of course this would cause a loss of resolution but if you’re going fast it’s probably not noticeable.

Forgive me if my numbers are a bit off, haven’t used the OT in a while. Also you can use this on whatever parameter you want, not just rate.

Example (LFO rates irrelevant)
LFO 1:
Straight line LFO
All steps @ -128 (min)
Destination: RATE

LFO 2:
Straight line LFO
All steps @ 127 (max)
Destination: RATE

Scene A:
RATE -64 (min)
LFO 1 depth: 127 (max)
LFO 2 depth: 0

Scene B:
RATE: 63 (max)
LFO 1 depth: 0
LFO 2 depth: 127 (max)

I want to bump this back up. I have been experimenting with this and tried those settings. What’s the purpose of the lfo?

Elektron can we please try and make a setting on the machine to adjust the curve of the cross fader.

I will say one thing watching the sample in the edit menu sorta helped me visualize what we’re trying to accomplish here. It reminds me of the Serrato setup a little.
Peace and love!

this made me think about how the fader works on the OT a little. It might be something that isn’t quite as freesh as this!

To narrow the range of the crossfader. I haven’t actually tried it but in theory it should make the crossfader only active for the given parameter in a small area around the center of the range.

Yeah, curve options would be fantastic. :+1:
