Interesting. Beatsurfuing stuff can go more towards esoteric and off the wall, and dare I say it they’ve even got a bit of Freakshow Industries in there. So far Random Metal has gotten my interest from them the most, but haven’t picked it up yet.
The thing that looks interesting to me about this one is the ability to see 4x effects at once to edit them, plus the macro system which should make for easy playability. Infiltrator has the macro system, but not the peformance widget, so it would be interesting to see how this one plays out for folks.
on top of that if i’m not mistaken what we see here is not the final editing stage of the fx, apparently the fx we see here are made up of editable fx behind the layer we see in these clips…
Iv’e only really preset surfed so far with mostly drone stuff from the modular – but yeah to me it sounds cool – the presets are less in your face than some other multi-fx plugins
in this clip the quality leans kinda trashy imo but not in a bad way… i’m starting to get a little more interested… if it’s good then it’s good, but it might be one of those bad things that’s still good
extensive intro, I believe the guy doing the Demo was the perfect person for this, but I wish he had used an 80 bpm boombap beat, and some 80bpm Rhodes chords… not because of any genre but because samples that are down tempo and groove based make for the best FX application demos because you can easily tell what effect is being had on the samples pitching, timing, stuttering, resolution etc…
I don’t know why he chose that one clap, and that synth lead sound… otherwise great job imo, it’s just that we can’t get as much out of it as we could have with different samples.
First examples in that last clip are so easy to do with any basic effect chain that it’s obscene. He said the key to it is a good multi effect unit, and as soon as I heard that i Xd out. Obviously a sponsored ad.
oh definitely, I think he makes presets for them… I sent them a message asking them to put out more clips cause beatsurfing always flys under the radar … cheatcode is interesting because it has a different vibe and sonic print than infiltrator 2, shaperbox , and their usual clones that I come across
What’s a good sample chopper recommendation? One that can quickly chop and rearrange, or set 1,2,4,8 bars loop quickly like how it’s done in Tracklib’s software, and then drag the audio quickly into the DAW?
For simply re-arranging a group of loops, there’s not much better than Loopflip . If not using Max, then maybe Loopmix, which also does have pitch as a variable, but imo it’s a bit more cluttered and tricky to use, Loopflip is a bit more manual but the results are great.
