Creative idea: create layers of effects in series without affecting the dry sound (like complex sends)

Hello everyone,

While searching for a way to create a lush reverb modulated by a chorus on Tonverk (which I managed to do, by the way), I found a little tip that I’d like to share.
Apologies in advance if this has already been shared.

Let me explain. Let’s take the example of my chorus-modulated reverb. The idea here is that I don’t want the dry sound to be affected by the chorus, only the reverb.

If I send track 1 to BUS 1 and put a chorus and a long reverb on that BUS, the dry sound will be affected by both effects.

So to create my modulated reverb, I sent 100% of the dry sound to SEND 1, on which I didn’t put any effects.
Then, to get the 100% wet sound of the reverb

If I send track 1 to BUS 1 and put a chorus and a long reverb on that BUS, the dry sound will be affected by both effects.

So to create my modulated reverb, I sent 100% of the dry sound to SEND 1, on which I didn’t put any effects.
Then, to get 100% wet sound from the modulated reverb without the dry sound, I put the chorus and reverb at 100% wet on BUS 1 and redirected my track to that BUS.
By modulating the BUS volume, you can adjust the effect of the modulated reverb in the same way as a SEND, without affecting the original signal.

This means that you can do the same thing for all effects.
You can therefore combine effects without affecting the dry sounds. For example, why not create a frozen reverb or drop reverb? I think this opens up a lot of creative possibilities.
EDIT : I try modulating reverb with a comb filter : You’re going into space ! :stuck_out_tongue:
You can even create a shimmer reverb with Chrono pitch send to reverb , amazing !

There may be an easier way to achieve the same thing, but I found this solution interesting.
Let me know what you think.

Here is the sounds.
Dry signal :

Comb Reverb : (comb filter into reverb)

Shimmer reverb : (chrono pitch into reverb)
